Beekeeping Experiences

There are infinite ways to observe the world—one of them is through a beekeeping veil, reaching into a box full of tens of thousands honey bees.

Two people in beekeeping suits holding a frame of bees and honey comb.

Our beekeeping experiences make for an adventurous date activity, enriching company outing, fascinating classroom field trip, or a necessary introduction to beekeeping as a hobby.

In 90 minutes or more, our experiences cover:

  • Pollination and pollinating insects

  • The origin of honey bees and their relationship with humans

  • Tools and techniques of the beekeeping trade

  • Life cycle, behavior, and colony dynamics of honey bees

  • Hive products, including a fresh honey sample

  • The greater world of other bees and their habitats

  • And anything else to address your goals

We have 2 teaching locations:

The Farm

Located on the southwest edge of Denver in Lakewood, Colorado, our main apiary is positioned on an 11-acre Certified Naturally Grown private family farm. This location is ideal for those who appreciate an accessible serene city escape. The farm is so quiet and brimming with wildlife that it’s hard to believe the city is just a few miles away.

The Brewery

Located at Breckenridge Brewery in Littleton, Colorado are Beevis and Buzzhead, the two hives sponsored and hosted by the brewery. This location is ideal for those looking for a day full of fun—the Colorado way. The brewery boasts an incredible beer garden with lawn games, a food truck, and craft beer on tap—the perfect way to end a beekeeping experience.

“Christine, was an absolute pleasure learning from. I attended a beekeeping experience on a beautiful farm. Her apiary is very well attended too, you know she loves everything about bees.

She was very knowledgeable and loves teaching. I learned so much in the two hours there. We got up close and personal with the bees, very interactive and learned the important factors to beekeeping. I look forward to her guidance and knowledge when I am ready to start my own apiary! I highly recommend Christine for her services.”
